A Missouri man was killed in a fatal crash Saturday evening on Arkansas 223 in Fulton County, authorities said.

David Stratton, 38, of Caulfield, Mo., was driving a GMC Jimmy south on the highway when the sport utility vehicle crossed the centerline and struck head-on a Dodge pickup driven by William Bryant, 76, of Henderson, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report.

Stratton died as a result of his injuries, state police said. Bryant was injured and taken to Baxter Regency Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.

The weather was clear and the road dry at the time of the accident, according to the report.

Stratton was the 209th person to die in a wreck on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary state police figures.
