Jacksonville shooting leaves 18-year-old injured

An 18-year-old man was injured after he was shot Monday at a Jacksonville apartment complex, police said.

Jacksonville Police Department Sgt. Richard Betterton said officers were dispatched to Chapel Ridge Apartments at 950 Military Road about 12:06 p.m., where they found the man who had been shot.

The man whose name has not been released, was taken hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Betterton said.

Details about a suspect or motive for the shooting weren’t immediately available. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
