LR man talking to woman shot in thigh by her boyfriend, report says

A 53-year-old Little Rock man was shot in the thigh Monday night while he was talking to a woman in front of a local home, authorities said.

The victim, Little Rock resident Terry Thomas, told investigators a man he knew by the nickname Smooth shot him as he talked to the man's girlfriend about 9:50 p.m. in front of 1014 E. 10th St.

Authorities responded and found Thomas limping in the parking lot of a nearby liquor store. He was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Thomas provided a description of the shooter and police circled the area, locating a possible suspect in 48-year-old Robert Jamison, the report said.

He was stopped at a gas station in the 700 block of East Ninth Street and found to be in possession of a stolen handgun, police said. Jamison, a felon, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a certain person and theft by receiving, though he was not charged in the shooting "pending further investigation," police wrote in the report.

Jamison remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning with bail not yet set.
