Pine Bluff police are investigating a June 30 shooting that left one man injured.

Andrew Lawson, 26, was riding his skateboard at the McDonald’s at 2819 S. Olive St. in Pine Bluff about 1 a.m. when a tan sport utility vehicle approached and the occupants forced him inside, Pine Bluff police Officer Richard Wegner said in a statement.

A fight began inside the vehicle among at least three people, and the driver stopped the SUV behind the Head Hunters Barber Shop at 3209 S. Main St., police said.

A surveillance video showed that the people then began fighting outside the vehicle, then Lawson was shot twice and struck in the head with a gun several times, police said.

The vehicle occupants got back inside and rammed Lawson, who was limping away on foot, Wegner said.

Lawson then made his way to 102 W. 31st St., where he got help, police said. He suffered a skull fracture, gunshot wounds in his hands and leg, and a broken leg.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the dispatch center at (870) 541-5300 or the detective division at (870) 730-2090.
