Four-vehicle wreck on I-30 kills Gurdon man

A Gurdon man was killed and three other people were injured early Tuesday in a four-vehicle wreck on Interstate 30 East in Nevada County.

An International truck was heading east in the left lane of I-30 around mile marker 43 in Prescott about 12:04 a.m. Tuesday when it began slowing for traffic ahead, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary report. The International truck was hit from behind by a Ford driven by David Johnigan, 42, of Texas City, Texas, the report states.

A Chyrsler being driven in the right lane by Treviel Threadgill, 24, of Gurdon then hit the International truck, and a Chevrolet driven by Amanda Hardin, 21, of Scottsburg, Ind., then hit Threadgill’s Chrysler from behind, according to the report.

Threadgill was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, state police said.

Johnigan, Hardin, and her passenger were also injured, but their conditions weren’t immediately available. The driver of the International truck was not injured, according to the report.

The weather was clear and the road dry at the time of the accident, state police said.

Threadgill’s death marked the 213th on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary state police figures.
