El Dorado woman killed after car rolls over

An El Dorado woman was killed Wednesday after her car went up an embankment, hit some trees and rolled over, authorities said.

It happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. as 37-year-old Teresa Gray drove a 2000 Chevy Impala north on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. near East Cedar Street in El Dorado, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Police say the Impala veered off the road, traveled up an embankment, "became airborne" and hit trees before rolling onto its top.

Gray, who was reportedly partially ejected from the vehicle, died at the scene.

It wasn't clear what caused the car to leave the road. Conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

The death and three others Wednesday raised to 217 the number of people killed in vehicle crashes in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
