Man accused of pulling gun in altercation with family

A 46-year-old North Little Rock man is accused of pulling a gun during an altercation Wednesday afternoon with family members.

Nathaniel Burton was arrested on a charge of first-degree assault on a family or household member. He remained in the Pulaski County jail Thursday morning with bail not yet set.

According to a North Little Rock police arrest report, Burton became embroiled in a "verbal altercation" with multiple family members and retrieved a gun from the trunk of a vehicle.

Burton's niece told investigators that he pointed the gun at a woman, waved it around recklessly and asked "what are you gonna do now," the report said. The report didn't indicate the relation between Burton and the woman.

No injuries were reported.

A preliminary court appearance for Burton is scheduled Thursday morning.
