UA revises public-records policy

A rewritten policy at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville released late Wednesday spells out how the university will respond to requests for public records, with changes including more Freedom of Information coordinators in various university departments.

The changes mark the first revisions to the campus policy since 1993 and come after the University of Arkansas System adopted changes to public record policies in January.

The university also released the report of a task force that studied UA’s response to Freedom of Information Act requests.

“Our top priority will always be to provide convenient and responsive access to the public records the university maintains,” said Laura Jacobs, associate vice chancellor of university relations.
