Man held in Simmons First National bank robbery

Little Rock police identified Monday a man arrested in the robbery of a Simmons First National bank branch Saturday morning.

Ronnie Hudson, 47, of Little Rock entered Simmons First National Bank, at 7401 Cantrell Road, about 11:30 a.m. Saturday and displayed a weapon to the tellers at the window, Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said. The tellers complied with his demands, and Hudson fled the area on foot, Allen said.

Hudson was taken into custody on Indian Trail after a lengthy foot pursuit with police. Complaining of chest pains, Hudson was taken to UAMS by police for non-life-threatening injuries. Hudson had complained of a headache and chest pains, police said.

Hudson was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property with possibly other charges pending. He was being held at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
