Mom left three kids alone, police say

A 34-year-old Little Rock parolee left three children unattended in an apartment Friday, police said.

Little Rock police arrived at Catorious Thomas' apartment at 660 Lancaster Road on Friday after a report of children being left there unattended.

A 10-year-old, a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old were left alone, police said. The 10-year-old's father picked him up, leaving the other two.

Thomas arrived two hours after police did and was arrested for misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor. Thomas remained in Pulaski County jail Friday night, where she was also held for parole, in lieu of a $1,000 bond.

Man faces charges of battery in gunfire

A 25-year-old Little Rock man was arrested Friday morning in connection with a shooting last week in an alley off Little Rock's south Main Street.

Raymond Neal Bailey Jr. is charged with two counts of first-degree battery. A police report indicated Bailey's bail would be $30,000. Bailey was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster Friday evening.

Two men were wounded in the shooting early July 3 that took place in an alley behind 1222 S. Main St.

Police said a man started shooting and then fled the area. Maurice Pinkey, 27, suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, and Matt Gillum, 26, was lying in the alley with several gunshot wounds to the chest, police reported.

Police did not have an update on the men's conditions Friday.

Police: Man hit kids with extension cord

A parolee accused of striking his two children with an extension cord was arrested early Friday morning in Helena-West Helena, police said.

Little Rock police then drove Robert Owens Alexander, 30, to Little Rock.

Police said Alexander of Helena-West Helena hit his children -- ages 8 and 9 -- with the extension cord, causing injuries to the face, neck, back, arms and legs of both of them.

Alexander is charged with two counts of first-degree domestic battery and is held for parole in Pulaski County jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Driver reports SUV stolen at gunpoint

Little Rock police are looking for a black 1999 GMC Yukon after a man reported having his taken from him at gunpoint just south of MacArthur Park early Thursday morning.

A man walked up to the sport utility vehicle as it sat halted at a stop sign at 15th and Commerce streets, the driver, Anthony Ragland, told police.

The suspect pointed a handgun at the driver and said, "Give it up," according to a police report. Ragland, 27, then got out of the car, and the suspect got in and drove away.

Ragland chased the car on foot until losing sight of it at the 700 block of 17th Street.

The robber is described as a 6-foot-tall black man wearing a colorful shirt, jean shorts, and a black and blue hat.
