Body of LR man pulled from river

A Little Rock man was found dead in the Arkansas River near the Clinton Presidential Center on Saturday, according to the Pulaski County sheriff's office.

Deputies said the body was that of Marquis Deshun Taylor, 18, who was reported missing Thursday. Detectives are investigating the death, but they do not suspect foul play, said Lt. Carl Minden, spokesman for the sheriff's office. According to the sheriff's office report, Taylor had suffered internal injuries.

On Friday, the Little Rock Police Department asked for help in locating Taylor, who was reported missing by his mother. She thought he could be suicidal, according to a statement from the Police Department. She told police that he often went to a pond near his home in southwest Little Rock.

About 8:45 a.m. Saturday, someone reported that there was a body in the Arkansas River. The sheriff's office Water Patrol and the Little Rock and North Little Rock fire departments responded and recovered the body, which was taken to the Pulaski County coroner's office before being released to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
