Haley Katherine Nesbitt and Rudy Joseph Martinez Lockehart were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, in Grace Church. The Rev. Steve Bowyer officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Denise and Bill Nesbitt, 1211 N. Garfield St. Her grandparents are the late Anne and Bill Haley of North Little Rock and the late Mary and Elvie Nesbitt of El Dorado.
Parents of the groom are Ami and Mark Oppe of North Pole, Alaska. His grandparents are Karil Clough of Conway and Linda and Michael Oppe of Anacortes, Wash.
The chancel held a large arrangement of sunflowers with a variety of purple and white flowers along with galvanized buckets filled with sunflowers, daisies and purple zinnias. Music was by pianist Laura Eubanks and soloist Evan Nesbitt, brother of the bride, who was accompanied on guitar by his father.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory strapless organza and tulle over satin A-line gown with softly curved scalloped lace neckline and a hand-beaded Empire waist. The skirt was embellished with scattered beaded lace appliques and had a chapel-length train. She carried sunflowers grown by her mother and friends.
Maid of honor was Anna Harton of Jacksonville. Bridesmaids were Janay Higgins and Sarah Eid, both of Little Rock; Katy Dupree of Jacksonville; Syndey Johnson of Conway; and Akashia Martinez of North Pole, sister of the groom. They wore tea-length dresses in the style of their choice in shades of amethyst and violet and carried simple sunflower bouquets.
Flower girls and ring bearer were Corryn Kelley of Maumelle; Katie Oppe of North Pole, sister of the groom; and Peyton Greeson of Conway.
Serving as best man was David Ortego of Oak Harbor, Wash. Groomsmen were Nathan Nesbitt of Little Rock, brother of the bride; Evan Nesbitt, brother of the bride, and Matt Robinette and Andrew Meyers, all of Conway; and Jotham Goettlich of Bozeman, Mont.
A reception at the church followed the ceremony. Tables were decorated with lace, birdcages and lanterns with candles and fresh flower arrangements of sunflowers, purple zinnias, purple bachelor buttons and globe amaranth. Entertainment was by Anna Harton, who read a poem; vocalist and guitarist Janay Higgins; vocalist Mary Ann Robinson, who accompanied herself on the mandolin; guitarist Bill Nesbitt and the Clark Family Trio, which included a musical number by Lauren Sukany.
The bride is a junior at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, where she is studying for a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She has been named to the dean's list and honor roll and is employed at Subway.
The groom is also a UCA student and is employed at Subway.
The couple will live in Conway after a honeymoon in Eureka Springs.
