Separate accidents kill 2 on roadways

A Judsonia boy was killed Monday morning when he rode his bicycle across a White County highway and was struck by a pickup, Arkansas State Police reported.

Cody Miller, 11, was attempting to cross Arkansas 367 from West Military Road at 6:03 a.m. when he was struck by a Chevrolet pickup traveling north on the highway.

The driver of the pickup, 23-year-old Aaron Quinn, was not injured.

State police also reported Monday that an Ozark man had been killed and two people had been injured in a crash Saturday in Carroll County.

Lonnie Thomas, 49, was driving a motorcycle south on Arkansas 341 when, about 5 p.m., a Honda subcompact car drove in front of him after making a U-turn from the northbound lane. The vehicles collided, and Thomas was killed.

Thomas' 48-year-old wife, Tamera, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville for treatment.

The driver of the Honda, 20-year-old Caitlyn Arender, was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
