NLR police ID victim in Tuesday night shooting

The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another Tuesday night.

North Little Rock Police Sgt. Brian Dedrick said officers responded about 8:08 p.m. to the 1500 block of West 15th Street, where they located 19-year-old Charles Boyd lying between two houses and suffering from gunshot wounds.

Boyd was transported to UAMS Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, Dedrick said. While at the shooting scene, officers were notified that UAMS was treating another gunshot victim in relation to the shooting. That victim, who has not yet been identified, was later released from the hospital.

Dedrick said by following the blood trail, officers determined that both victims had been shot on the front porch of 1321 W. 13th St., but Boyd ran two blocks to West 15th Street after being shot.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, Dedrick said.

Anyone with additional information about the shooting may call the department's 24-hour phone line at (501) 680-8439.
