Police are investigating the armed robbery Monday of a Little Rock gas station.

Officers responded about 5:53 p.m. to Corner Store at 14000 Kanis Road, where Kimberly Maxwell said a man with a handgun threatened to kill her and forced her to open the cash register, according to a police report. The man took $155 and left the store, the report says.

No injuries were reported.

The robber -- who wore a wig, sunglasses, black gloves and black jacket -- fled in a black Toyota Corolla driven by a second person. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Kirby Road.

Surveillance cameras recorded the vehicle's license plate, police reported. Officers searched the area for the car, but no arrests had been made late Tuesday.

The gunman was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 165 pounds and between 42 and 48 years old.

Deputies say shock halted drug gulper

A North Little Rock man faces several charges after deputies used a stun gun to stop him from eating a bag of suspected narcotics, reports say.

Pulaski County deputies went to Della Lane and Roderweist Road about 8 a.m. Monday and found a silver Mazda parked in the middle of the roadway, the driver asleep in a reclined seat, according to reports.

The deputies woke the man, who claimed he didn't know where he'd been. During questioning, the man started acting "restless," reports said.

The man tried to run away, reports said, but was caught. Reports said the man then pulled a plastic bag from his pocket and tried to swallow a "white crystalline substance."

The man refused to obey commands and deputies shocked him multiple times to get him under control, reports said.

In addition to the suspected narcotic, deputies also found several spoons and about $2,075 in cash.

Joshua Hannah, 32, of 5713 Alta Vista Drive, was charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of a controlled substance as well as fleeing.

Suspect in shooting jailed on 3 charges

A suspect in a shooting at a Little Rock apartment complex was arrested Monday morning.

Shykwan Franklin, 19, was charged with first-degree battery and two counts of terroristic threatening in the June 29 shooting of Willie Johnson.

Officers responded about 3:41 p.m. to Warren Apartments, 2000 Reservoir Road, where they found Johnson, 20, lying on the floor of a hallway. Shot in the right hip, he was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock with injuries that weren't life-threatening.

Johnson told investigators that a man he knew as "Kwan" had shot him during an argument that turned physical, according to a court affidavit. He later identified Franklin in a police photo lineup. Several witnesses confirmed Johnson's account of the shooting, according to the affidavit.

Franklin reportedly fired four shots at Johnson. One of the bullets entered an apartment occupied by two people, who were not injured.

Franklin was arrested at 7:15 a.m. Monday at Parkway Place Apartments, 2000 Parkway Place Drive.

He was additionally charged with aggravated assault in a shooting at 1400 Old Forge Drive, Sturbridge Apartments. On June 16, Franklin purportedly fired five shots at a man during an argument.

He fled the complex but left his Arkansas identification card behind, according to a court affidavit. The ID was found by the victim and turned over to police.

Franklin was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Tuesday in lieu of $25,000 bond.
