Museum welcomes world-renowned artist

Bingo Bash benefits centers

July 11 offered a triple-header of events in Northwest Arkansas.

My first stop was Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville for a reception with world-renowned artist Jeff Koons, whose stainless steel sculpture "Hanging Heart (Gold/Magenta)" is exhibited in Eleven, the museum's restaurant. Koons was at the museum as part of its Keynote Lecture Series.

She thanked the group, saying that her goal is to help build a $2.5 million endowment for the university's equine program.

My final stop for the evening took me to the UARK Bowl on Dickson Street in Fayetteville for the Elizabeth Richardson Center's third annual Beach Bingo Bash benefit.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help the nonprofit organization purchase multisensory therapy equipment for its five Child Development Centers. The preschools serve children from the age of 6 months and offers speech, physical and occupational therapies for those diagnosed with a development disability or delay.
