A teenager from Jacksonville has been charged in a weekend robbery and shooting that left a man dead in North Little Rock.

According to a North Little Rock police arrest report, 17-year-old Robert Harris faces charges of aggravated robbery and capital murder in the early Sunday morning shooting that left 28-year-old Michael Cook of North Little Rock dead.

One witness told investigators that he, Cook, Harris and one other man were listening to music in a car before Cook left and Harris followed, the report said. That witness said he heard shots fired a short time later, police said.

A second witness said he saw Harris "holding the victim at gunpoint" before Cook threw items from his person onto the ground, the report said. The witness said he then saw Harris "shoot the victim several times and then flee the scene on foot," the report added.

Police responded about 1 a.m. to the area near Campbell Road and Whippoorwill Lane. Cook, who was found in the roadway with at least one gunshot wound, died a short time later at a hospital.

The report says Harris, who was arrested just before 6 a.m. Monday, acknowledged being "present during the incident" but said he did not shoot Cook.

He was being held in the Pulaski County jail Monday morning with bail not yet set.
