New police chief starts at Southern Arkansas University

MAGNOLIA — Southern Arkansas University is swearing in a new police chief Monday.

Anthony Williams comes to the university from Dallas. He has 30 years of experience in law enforcement.

During his first three months at SAU, Williams will be getting his Arkansas police license and going through the state's specialized chief training program.

Williams succeeds Eric Plummer. Plummer left the university for a position in North Dakota in 2012. Lt. Boyd Good has served as police chief in the interim.
