Easter Seals Arkansas receives $25,000 technology grant

Easter Seals Arkansas announced Thursday that it was named one of six recipients of the 2014-2015 Comcast Assistive Technology Grant Fund.

The organization will receive $25,000 to fund iPad Bootcamp, a training program for special educators and therapists that focuses on the use of iPads as a tool for students with disabilities, an Easter Seals news release states.

Easter Seals Arkansas will have the ability to purchase 20 iPad Air 64GB devices and applications to use during the training, the organization said.

The Comcast Assistive Technology Grant Fund, established in 2012, “empowers individuals living with disabilities by expanding assistive technology training and services available to them,” the news release states.

This is the first year that Easter Seals Arkansas has received the Comcast grant.
