Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/RICK MCFARLAND --06/22/13-- Richard Sabin, of Longview, Tx., drops a bean bag at the target from his hot air balloon during the Great War Memorial Balloon Race in Little Rock Saturday. His was the first balloon to the target at War Memorial Golf Course. The other balloon shown was piloted by Sandy Graf, of Flowermound, Tx., and she was the only other balloon to drop at the target, though she was not as close as Sabin. The event continues Sunday.

Float: Hot air balloons will glide over and land at War Memorial Park for the Great War Memorial Balloon Race, 4-10 p.m. Aug. 29, 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Aug. 30 and 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 31. Expect jazz music, food vendors and, of course, a fleet of colorful balloons. Admission is $5 for the full weekend, free for children 12 and under.
