FCC approves KATV sale to Sinclair

By The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

This article was published July 25, 2014 at 11:10 a.m.

The Federal Communications Commission has approved the sale of KATV, Channel 7, in Little Rock as part of a $985 million sale of all stations owned by Allbritton Communications Co. to Sinclair Broadcast Group.

The proposed sale was announced a year ago, but the FCC found problems in overlapping markets and Sinclair sold its station in Harrisburg, Pa., to Media General to make the deal work.
