Dardanelle woman killed after vehicle hits culvert

A 43-year-old Dardanelle woman was killed Sunday, after her vehicle ran off a Yell County highway and hit a culvert.

Authorities say it happened about 11:45 a.m. as Ann M. Dobbs drove a 2012 Nissan east on Arkansas 154 about 3 miles west of Centerville.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and instead ran off the road and hit a concrete culvert.

Dobbs died from unspecified injuries.

Conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

The death was the 242nd in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
