Yell County deputies arrested a women on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor after her husband and son disappeared in the Ouachita Mountains last Thursday.
Brooke Floyd, 21, was arrested by Yell County sheriff's deputies on charges endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class D felony carrying a maximum prison term of six years and up to a $10,000 fine, and hindering apprehension or prosecution, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $2,500, according to her arrest report.
The sheriff's office has not released information detailing what led her to be arrested.
Brian Floyd, 33, and his 10-month-old son, Harper Floyd, disappeared after their GMC pickup broke down in the area south of Blue Mountain Lake, south of Mount Magazine in the Ouachita Mountains. The car is dark green and gold with an Arkansas license plate and has not been found yet by the sheriff's office.
The sheriff’s office is working with the FBI, Arkansas State Police and the U.S. Forest Service to find Brian and Harper Floyd. So far, investigators have asked the public to stay away from the area so the agencies can focus on their search. The sheriff’s office said it has several leads but still has not found the pair.
A news conference about the search is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in Danville.
