Car accident ends with gunfire in LR

Road rage turned a vehicle accident into a shooting Sunday night, according to Little Rock police.

Two vehicles were involved in an accident near Rebsamen Park and Riverdale roads around 7 p.m. Sunday, police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email.

The driver of one of the vehicles got upset and fired multiple shots at the other vehicle before fleeing the area, Allen said.

No one was injured by the gunfire, he said.

Police did not have any suspects in custody late Sunday.

Ex-worker arrested in Taco Bell robbery

Police arrested a Little Rock man Friday who they think is responsible for a Taco Bell robbery that occurred earlier this month.

On July 16, someone walked behind the counter at the Taco Bell at 1200 John Barrow Road, approached the drive-thru area and opened the cash register, according to a report from police. The person took an unknown amount of money and fled, the report states.

Police arrested former Taco Bell employee Cornelius Darrell Ganaway Jr., 19, on Friday. Ganaway has been charged with breaking or entering. He also faces charges of robbery, theft of property and failure to appear.

Ganaway is being held at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $9,000 bond.

Police charge man in NLR car break-ins

Five cars were broken into in the 2600 block of John Ashley Road on Saturday afternoon, according to a report from North Little Rock police.

When police arrived on the scene, a man was sitting in the driver's seat of a black Dodge Challenger with a shattered driver's side window, the report stated.

Upon seeing the officer, the man jumped out of the car and ran, the report stated. The officer found him hiding in the bushes, according to the report.

Police reported that he stole credit cards, cash, a gate access card, a receipt and a stereo remote from three of the vehicles.

According to the report, another vehicle had been ransacked but no items were taken.

Two of the vehicles had their windows smashed, one had its windows down and the other two showed no signs of forced entry, the report stated.

Robert Holmes, 23, was arrested and charged with fleeing and five counts of breaking or entering. He was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Sunday.
