LR police chief to make rounds, meet residents

Little Rock residents will get their chance to meet and discuss topics with Little Rock Police Department Chief Kenton Buckner over the next three weeks.

The city of Little Rock said Tuesday that public meetings with the chief will take place in each of the seven city wards.

The meetings will allow attendees to “get to know Chief Buckner while discussing Little Rock’s future,” a City of Little Rock news release states. The first meeting will occur Aug. 4, and the final meeting on Aug. 21. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Meeting schedule:

• Monday, Ward 2: Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 3805 W. 12th St.

• Aug. 7, Ward 4: McDermott Elementary School, 1200 Reservoir Road.

• Aug. 8, Ward 1: Dunbar Community Center, 1001 W. 16th St.

• Aug. 11, Ward 6: Centre at University Park, 6401 W. 12th St.

• Aug. 13, Ward 7: David O. Dodd Elementary School, 6423 Stagecoach Road.

• Aug. 18, Ward 3: Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, 6400 Richard B. Hardie Drive.

• Aug. 21, Ward 5: Roosevelt Thompson Library, 38 Rahling Circle.
