Man arrested in tire-shop break-in

Jacksonville police arrested a 23-year-old Sherwood man Tuesday afternoon in connection to a break-in at Liberty Tire and Lube on John Harden Road.

Trent Michael Ingram was charged with commercial burglary and misdemeanor theft of property and remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday night in lieu of a $6,000 bond. Ingram is also being held on charges of failing to serve jail time, another commercial burglary and felony theft of property.

Liberty Tire and Lube workers called police at 7 a.m. Monday and reported a broken window and $580 missing from a pried-open toolbox, a police report stated.

A detective took fingerprints from the scene and connected them to Ingram using a local fingerprint identification system, the report said.

Ingram told police he went to the store to burglarize it early Monday with another man and watched the man take the money from the toolbox, the report said.

1 held, 1 sought in home invasion

Two men knocked on a Taylor Street door in Jacksonville on Monday evening and entered the house with guns drawn after a resident opened the door, police said.

The men, who referred to themselves as "Crip" and "Cruz," then waved their guns and told the people in the house they were being robbed, a police report stated. Five adults and a 5-month-old baby were in the house.

The adults emptied their pockets as the two men asked for money, pills and electronics, the report said.

A Playstation 4, a 42-inch Samsung television, an iPhone 5, an HTC cellphone, $400 in cash, shoes, wallets, car keys and food were reported stolen.

Police arrested 18-year-old Braylon Andrew Gilley of Jacksonville on Tuesday afternoon after witnesses picked him out of a lineup, but they had not arrested a second suspect at the time of the report.

The other suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, about 5-foot-7, of medium build, with short hair and his left arm covered in tattoos.

Gilley remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday night in lieu of a $156,500 bond. He's charged with residential burglary, five counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and felony theft of property and has additional charges of contempt of court, failure to appear and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.

Police: Felon had 16 firearms, drugs

A convicted felon remained in Pulaski County jail Tuesday night after Jacksonville police said he possessed illegal drugs.

Tyrone D. Kirkwood, 30, was arrested at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at an 1108 Lehman Drive home, where police found him with his estranged wife, his three children, marijuana, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, pills, 16 firearms ranging from small pistols to assault rifles and sawed-off shotguns, body armor and surveillance equipment, a Police Department news release said.

Police also found a "green plant material" in several mason jars in the residence, a police report states.

Police filed a report with the Department of Human Services, the report states.

Kirkwood faces numerous drugs and firearms charges, in addition to maintaining a drug premises within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor.
