Parolee one of two held in armed robbery at apartment

Two men, including a parolee, have been arrested in the armed robbery of a Little Rock resident at an apartment on Stagecoach Road.

Authorities say James E. Thomas III, 21, of Little Rock and Renaldo Jevonte Lloyde, 23, of Benton are each facing charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property.

The two are accused of making off with several pairs of the victim's tennis shoes and his cellphone after robbing him at an apartment at 9400 Stagecoach Road, according to Little Rock Police Department arrest reports.

Lloyde, who police say had a gun displayed during the crime, is facing additional charges of criminal use of a prohibited weapon and possession of a defaced firearm. According to his arrest report, a search of his vehicle turned up a sawed-off shotgun and rounds with serial numbers scratched out. It didn't specify whether that was the weapon used in the robbery.

Thomas and Lloyde, who were both arrested after 6 p.m. Tuesday, remained in the Pulaski County jail with bail not yet set.

Thomas is listed in online records as being on parole through 2015 in Little Rock. Court records show convictions last year in Pulaski County including theft of property and breaking or entering.
