Bryant couple robbed at gunpoint in home

Police say three men invaded a Bryant home on Wednesday and robbed a married couple at gunpoint.

Bryant police responded at 4:40 p.m. to a residence on Center Street, where Hazel Gilson, 74, said three black men came into her house and held her at gunpoint.

She told police that she heard a knock at the door, and when she opened the door, the men forced their way into the house, pointed a gun at her then struck her in the head with it.

A short time later, Hazel Gilson's husband, 74-year-old Thomas Gilson, walked into the home and was met with a gun in his face, police said.

The men forced the Gilsons into a bathroom, where they were held at gunpoint while the other robbers tore through the house looking for items to steal, police said.

The Gilsons told police that the men fled the house in an unknown direction. Bryant Police Department Sgt. Todd Crowson said a pistol was stolen during the robbery, but the list of stolen items isn’t complete yet.

The Bryant Police Department is asking the public to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at (501) 943-0943 with any information regarding this robbery.
