Burglary suspect held at gunpoint by residents

A burglary suspect was arrested Thursday morning after residents held him at gunpoint for police, according to an arrest report.

V O Taylor, 54, was arrested on a charge of residential breaking or entering at a home in the 1400 block of Center Street.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, officers arrived about 4:20 a.m. and found Taylor being held at gunpoint by the residents. They said he had broken into a locked "shed/shop," the report noted.

"When the resident advised the shed was 'locked,' Taylor said, 'no it was unlocked,'" police wrote in the report.

Taylor was then arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail, where he remained Thursday morning with bail on the charge set at $5,000.

The report said a flashlight and tools were recovered at the scene.

Taylor was also being held for the parole system. Online records show he is on standard parole in Little Rock through 2015 and his criminal history includes 2009 convictions in Pulaski County for commercial burglary and theft of property.

A court date in the latest arrest is set Wednesday.
