Officers responded about 11:05 p.m. to Aces and Kings Liquor Store at 6821 Colonel Glenn Road. Tyrony Smith, 43, was sitting outside the store bleeding, according to a police incident report. Smith had several pellet-sized holes in his thigh, hand and forearm that were consistent with shotgun birdshot.

Smith told officers that he was standing outside an Exxon gas station at 6920 Colonel Glenn Road across from the liquor store when he was shot "out of nowhere," according to the report.

Another victim, Lamont London, 35, approached officers while they were speaking with Smith and collapsed. London had a large-caliber shotgun wound in his buttocks, officers reported. London told police that two black men in white T-shirts had exited the gas station and shot him.

A third shooting victim, Demetrius Edwards, 22, was found soon afterward in a car wash bay at the gas station. Edwards' wounds were also consistent with shotgun birdshot , according to police. He told police that he was sitting outside the gas station when he was "suddenly shot" by attackers he didn't see, the report said.

Each of the men were hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.

A witness told police that he recognized one of the shooters as a Crips gang member, according to the report. The witness, who did not tell police his name, also said he heard one of the victims was a Bloods gang member.

"Investigators will look into the unidentified witness statement," police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in a news release.

Police requested surveillance footage from the gas station. Late Wednesday, detailed descriptions of the suspects were unavailable.

2 confronted with sword in traffic

A man confronted two women in North Little Rock traffic with a "samurai-type sword" Wednesday afternoon, according to an arrest report.

Angela Thomas and Betty Thomas told police that they were driving on Camp Robinson Road when the SUV in front of them stopped, the report said. Dereck Johnson, 41, purportedly exited the SUV with a small folding knife and began yelling at the women to "give him his money."

Johnson then returned to his vehicle, grabbed a sword and slashed their front right tire while yelling incoherently, according to the report.

The women drove to a nearby gas station and called police. Officers stopped Johnson's SUV at 4701 Camp Robinson Road just north of West 47th Street. He was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Officers reported finding a "samurai-type sword" in Johnson's vehicle.

Johnson, of Sherwood, was charged with aggravated assault and carrying certain prohibited weapons. He was being held in lieu of $25,500 bond in the Pulaski County jail late Wednesday.

2 LR men arrested in break-in, theft

A pair of Little Rock men, including a parolee, were arrested Tuesday night and charged in a Monday home invasion robbery.

Robbery detectives met ConSandra Hartley at her 9400 Stagecoach Road apartment Monday where she told them that two men looking for her boyfriend robbed of her of several pairs of shoes and a cellphone while her boyfriend, Charlie Stevens, hid in the bedroom.

According to Hartley, Stevens came to her home and told her not to let anyone know he was there, arrest affidavits said.

Shortly after, a man named "Paco" showed up asking to talk to her boyfriend, and she told him she'd let him know he was looking for him.

Paco returned again, according to detectives, with another man, and the two forced their way into the apartment only after threatening to start shooting the apartment up.

Once inside, the second suspect pulled a gun and threatened to shoot, and instead, the two made off with the shoes and phone.

Investigators were able to identify James Thomas III, 21, as "Paco," and he was arrested at his 5805 Stagecoach Road home at about 6:50 p.m. and charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property.

The gunman, identified as Renaldo Lloyd, 23, was arrested near his home in Benton, where police also found a sawed-off shotgun and rounds with the serial numbers scratched off.

In addition to aggravated robbery and theft of property, Lloyd was charged with possession of a defaced firearm and criminal use of prohibited weapons.

Lloyd was being held at the Pulaski County jail Wednesday night in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Thomas was also there, but was placed on a "hold" by state parole officials for a potential violation.

Man, 58, arrested in rape of woman

A Little Rock man was arrested Wednesday after being accused of sexually assaulting a 70-year-old woman who had previously hired him to do yardwork.

The woman told police Friday that Milton Thomas had come to her home because he wanted to mow her lawn, according to an arrest report. She told Thomas, 58, that she had no money to pay him.

Thomas purportedly forced his way inside the home, raped the woman and threatened to hurt her if she told anyone.

He was charged with rape and burglary. Thomas denied the woman's accusations and told investigators that he had consensual sex with her last month, according to the report.

He was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Wednesday in lieu of $30,000 bond.
