Hamburg teen killed after pickup hits log truck

A 19-year-old driver from Hamburg was killed Wednesday morning after his pickup went across the centerline and hit a log truck in Ashley County, authorities said.

Arkansas State Police say it happened shortly before 7 a.m. as Dylan Ray Weeks was driving a 2008 Toyota pickup south on U.S. 425 north of Hamburg.

The pickup reportedly crossed the centerline and hit the rear of a loaded log truck that was traveling north.

Weeks died from unspecified injuries. The truck driver wasn't hurt.

The report did not indicate what may have caused the pickup to cross the line. Conditions were described as clear and dry.

The death was the 244th in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
