FLOWING ON THE RIVER

How does the wine taste? Partygoers have the answer

Before there was smoke on the water, fire in the sky, it was flowing on the river, the pre-Riverfest wine tasting event in the River Market Pavilions on May 22.

There were, according to the program anyway, exactly 100 different pours for oenophiles, from McManises and Criss Crosses to Sivases and Badger Mountain. Add to that Saga, Hoptimistic, Bombshell Blonde and about 20 other craft brews to sip.

The libations came care of Natural State Distributing and Arkansas Craft Beer Distributors. Several area restaurants, including Blue Coast Burrito, Cheers in the Heights, and Cache picked up the victuals end. Proceeds go, not back into the 501(c)3 Riverfest nonprofit, but to the Argenta Community Theater's summer camp, "ACTing Up."
