Missing Tuscaloosa teen returns home

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Authorities say 13-year-old Tuscaloosa girl reported missing more than a month ago has been returned to her home.

The Tuscaloosa News reports a statement from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office says authorities got word late Friday from police in Houston, Texas, that Jovana Hill had arrived there on a flight from Mexico. Authorites say the teen was traveling with her mother and was headed for Birmingham.

Sheriff's deputies and U.S. marshals met the pair at the Birmingham airport and took them to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, where the teen was interviewed. She was released to her mother.

When the teen was reported missing April 27, authorities said she was likely traveling with a 24-year-old man with outstanding warrants in Tuscaloosa County. Authorities are still seeking the man.
