Roadwork set for Scott Hamilton Drive

A project to reconstruct and widen a section of Scott Hamilton Drive in Little Rock will begin this week and limit traffic speeds on the stretch for much of the next 12 months, the city said Monday.

Traffic will be limited to 25 mph while Scott Hamilton between Interstate 30 and West 65th Street is widened to four lanes, according to a news release. The lower speed limit is expected to last until late spring of next year. The regular speed limit, 35 mph, will return once the construction is complete.

Other work that is part of the project includes underground storm drainage, curb, gutter and sidewalks on both sides of the road.

Two lanes of traffic are expected to be maintained during the construction.
