13-year-old girl arrested in connection with Springdale bomb threat

A 13-year-old girl was arrested in connection with felony communicating a false alarm Wednesday afternoon after admitting responsibility for a bomb threat on a school's bathroom stall, police said.

Springdale police received a call early in the morning from Sonora Middle School about the bomb threat, said Lt. Derek Hudson, public information officer for the police department. School officials evacuated the school. The police searched the campus but didn't find anything.

School officials proceeded to check surveillance cameras and speak with students to find the person who wrote the threat. The girl who wrote the threat admitted to it and was arrested. She was taken to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.
