New Ozark-St. Francis forests supervisor announced

RUSSELLVILLE — The new supervisor for the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests has been announced.

Reggie Blackwell will take over as supervisor of the forests starting June 8.

Blackwell will supervise about 200 employees who work on the more than 1.2 million acres of the Ozark National Forest that's mostly in the Ozark Mountains of northern Arkansas and the 23,000-acre St. Francis National Forest in eastern Arkansas.

Blackwell has 39 years of experience with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 30 of those years working for the forest service and nine years with the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
