Pine Bluff shooting injures 22-year-old

Pine Bluff police are investigating after a Tuesday night shooting left a man injured.

Cedric Farris, 22, was waiting for an acquaintance to pick him up outside the Lakeview Apartments, 501 W. Barraque St., about 11:45 p.m., when a red passenger car occupied by four black men pulled up, Pine Bluff Police Department spokesman Officer Richard Wegner said in a statement.

The driver’s side rear passenger, who was wearing a mask, fired several shots from the car, hitting Farris once on his right side, police said. Farris was taken by ambulance to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he is undergoing treatment and his current condition is not known, Wegner said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Pine Bluff police dispatch center at (870) 541-5300 or its detective division at (870) 730-2090.
