Attempted burglar taken to hospital for asthma, police say

A 46-year-old Little Rock man was taken to the hospital for breathing trouble after breaking into a home and attempting to run from officers, police said.

Earmon Wright was arrested Thursday morning after a witness reported he saw Wright enter a house and attempt to steal from it, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

When officers arrived, Wright tried to run through the home's back door but couldn't, the report states. Officers tried to detain Wright, but Wright ran from the house through the front door and attempted to jump a fence, according to the report.

Wright was unable to clear the fence, and officers then arrested him, police said.

Officers recovered three watches and returned them to the home's owner, according to the report.

Wright complained of having trouble breathing because of asthma and was taken to UAMS Medical Center to be treated, according to the report.

Charges are pending upon Wright's release from the hospital.
