For second day in a row, plane with flap trouble lands at LR airport

For the second day in a row, an airplane coming from Dallas to Little Rock landed safely despite reporting a possible problem with its flap before landing.

Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport spokesman Shane Carter said American flight 2574 landed without problems at 1:30 p.m. after its captain reported a "possible flap failure." Fifty people were on board. No emergency was declared, American Airlines said.

The landing comes one day after an American Eagle flight made a safe landing at the Little Rock airport after reporting a possible flap failure. That plane landed at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday without incident.

Andrea Huguely, an American Airlines spokesman, said the plane Thursday was not the same one as the plane that landed Wednesday. American Airlines owns American Eagle.

Huguely said technicians examined the airplane in Little Rock, found no problems and it was allowed to take off on its scheduled flight back to Dallas.
