Pipe-bomb suspects questioned, released

The two suspects in Thursday's pipe bomb discovery in the Broadmoor neighborhood of Little Rock were questioned and released from police custody pending further investigation.

Branson Pearce, 44, of Little Rock and Erica Craig, 44, also of Little Rock were released by officers after being taken into custody in connection with explosive materials found at 107 Broadmoor Drive, where the pair had broken in, according to a Little Rock police report.

The pair were living in a house that belongs to Ricky Taylor, 45, of Little Rock, who is being held at the Lonoke County jail on unrelated charges. Taylor's involvement is under investigation, Little Rock police said.

A man with power of attorney over the house in Taylor's absence called the police after he discovered that the house was locked and that back window was broken, according to the report.

When officers entered the house Thursday, they found what appeared to be a pipe bomb as well as a flare gun that had been modified to shoot shotgun shells, police said.

Pearce was accused of criminal trespass and Craig of criminal possession of explosives, but charges have not yet been filed.
