Separate crashes kill 3 across state

Three people died in separate accidents on Arkansas roads Thursday and Friday.

A Clarendon woman died in a car crash Friday morning in Monroe County, according to Arkansas State Police reports.

Wanda Green, 57, was driving westbound on Arkansas 89 at about 8:45 a.m. when she crossed the centerline and drove onto the shoulder of the eastbound lane. Police determined that Green tried to re-enter the roadway, and her car overturned.

Green was ejected from the vehicle, and the Monroe County coroner pronounced her dead at the scene, according to the report.

A Malvern man died Thursday night after losing control of his motorcycle, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Joseph Smith, 68, was driving his Honda motorcycle west on U.S. 270 through Hot Springs National Forest at about 9:20 p.m. when he lost control while rounding a curve, the report says. The Garland County coroner pronounced Smith dead at the scene.

One person died and another person was injured in a car wreck south of Malvern on Thursday afternoon, according to Arkansas State Police reports.

Anja Dial, 48, of Leola, was driving southbound on Arkansas 9 about 1:10 p.m. when she crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the vehicle driven by Jeremy Hammock, 46, of Bonnerdale, the report says.

The Hot Spring County coroner pronounced Dial dead at the scene. Hammock was taken to a hospital in Malvern with injuries.
