Local contestants to compete for Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen

RUSSELLVILLE — Several young women with ties to the Three Rivers Edition coverage area will compete in the 10th annual Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen Pageant on Wednesday through Saturday at The Center for the Arts, 2209 S. Knoxville Ave. in Russellville.

The preliminary competition will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the winner to be announced Saturday.

Local contestants include the following:

• Miss Arkansas Valley Outstanding Teen — Christian Weatherley of Cabot, the 16-year-old daughter of Ronnie and Dalene Weatherley, will present a clogging routine for her talent, and her platform is “Special Mentors 4 Special Students.”

She will compete in interview on Wednesday, evening wear/active wear on Thursday and talent on Friday.

• Miss Greater Jacksonville Outstanding Teen — Alexis Landers of Benton, the daughter of Brianna Mathews and Josh Landers, will present a jazz dance for her talent, and her platform is “Mentoring Offers Endless Possibilities.”

She will compete in interview on Wednesday, talent on Thursday and evening wear/active wear on Friday.

• Miss North Central Arkansas Outstanding Teen — Reagan Wheelis of Melbourne, the 16-year-old daughter of Brad and Tina Wheelis, will present a piano solo for her talent, and her platform is “Breast Cancer Awareness: Early Detection is Key.”

She will compete in interview on Wednesday, talent on Thursday and evening wear/active wear on Friday.

• Miss Northeast Arkansas Outstanding Teen — Lacey Moore of Pocahontas, the 16-year-old daughter of Lil Moore and the late Bob Moore, will present a clogging routine for her talent, and her platform is “Read to Succeed.”

She will compete in interview on Wednesday, talent on Thursday and evening wear/active wear on Friday.
