Head of Ark. nonprofit accused of embezzlement

CONWAY, Ark. — An executive director of a Faulkner County nonprofit has been charged with forgery and theft of property after allegedly embezzling money from the organization.

The Log Cabin Democrat reports that Reva "Rennia" Johnston was arrested Thursday.

The board of the Faulkner County Council on Developmental Disabilities found in an internal audit forged checks totaling more than $12,000.

Johnston was fired from the position.

She told the newspaper that she has a severe gambling addiction, which she is trying to seek help for.
