LaKeshia Marie Barbee and Byron Scott Gardner were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in Greater Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Leroy Glenns of Longley Baptist Church officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Claudette and Jerome Barbee of North Little Rock. Her grandparents are Laura F. Taylor of Memphis and Margree and the late Jessie Barbee of Sherwood.

The groom is the son of Sharon Whitcher and Brian Gardner, both of Marion. He is the grandson of Shirley and Joe Blakely and Elizabeth Jefferson, all of West Memphis.

A pewter arch was centered with an arrangement of roses, lilies and daisies. Persimmon-colored kissing balls decorated the pews. "The Lord's Prayer" was sung by Roger Privett of Conway.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory satin strapless gown with an overlay of beaded lace that extended to a chapel train. She carried a cream- and persimmon-colored bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and daisies.

Serving as the bride's honor attendants were Tristian Smith of Conway and Briona Barbee of North Little Rock, sister of the bride. They wore satin knee-length pewter-colored dresses with sweetheart necklines and fitted waists. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Templeton of Sherwood; Asia McGhee, Alaina Simmons and Alisha Miles, all of Conway; Jamia Moore of Plano, Texas; and Gashen Humphrey, Ebonie Ingram and Chelsea Sutton, all of Little Rock. They wore one-shoulder knee-length dresses of persimmon satin. The attendants carried bouquets of roses, daisies and alstroemeria in shades of orange and ivory.

Flower girl and ring bearer were India Rae McCuien of North Little Rock and Desmend Kendall Alexander Jr. of Conway.

The groom's honor attendants were Kent Meeks of Conway and Brian Gardner Jr. of West Memphis, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Clayton Miller, Charles Anderson and Nate Walker, all of Conway; Antonio Cheatham of Maumelle; Danny Simpson of Little Rock; Corey Davis of Bentonville; Antwone Wright of Anthonyville; and D'Cameron Granger of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Guests were seated by Michael Murry of Mayflower.

A reception at the Benton Event Center followed the ceremony. Tables covered in pewter and ivory cloths were centered with arrangements of day lilies and roses.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She received her master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and is working toward a doctorate in business administration. She is employed with Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in the Health Advantage division.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in sociology with a criminology focus from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and will graduate in December with a master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. He is a drug court probation officer with Arkansas Community Correction.

The couple will make their home in Conway after a wedding trip to Barbados.
