NLR man arrested in armed robbery of woman

A 30-year-old North Little Rock man is accused of pointing a gun at a woman and then making off with her cellphone.

Michael Robertson was arrested Saturday night in North Little Rock on a charge of aggravated robbery.

The victim reported a man wearing all black who went by the nickname "Smoke" approached her in the 1600 block of Walnut Street, took her phone, pointed a revolver at her and her friend, and said "he was gonna shoot somebody," North Little Rock police wrote in a report.

Witnesses directed investigators to an alley that led to nearby Cedar Street, where Robertson was found. The victim and the witness positively identified him as the robber, the report said, and police found a gun and the victim's cellphone in the alley.

Police added that Robertson matched the description provided by the victim and that he "identified his nickname as 'Smoke' in front of officers."

A Tuesday court date is set for Robertson.
