LR bank tellers lock out would-be robber

Little Rock police are investigating a Tuesday morning attempted bank robbery.

Lt. Sidney Allen of the Little Rock Police Department said a man approached the Iberia Bank branch at 6420 S. University Ave. about 9:09 a.m. with a silver handgun. However, the tellers locked the door, and he couldn’t get in, Allen said.

The would-be robber — a 6-foot black man wearing sunglasses, a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans — left in white mid-to-late 1990s model Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquise, police said. The vehicle, also described as having "bad or damaged tint on the front passenger window," was seen leaving the bank going west on 65th Street.

The same branch was held up last Tuesday, June 10, by an unarmed white man, Arkansas Online previously reported.
