LR man injured in drive-by shooting

A man was injured Tuesday morning in a drive-by shooting on Interstate 30 in Little Rock, according to a Little Rock police report.

Willie Williams, 42, and Katara Nowden, 32, both of Little Rock were eastbound on I-30 near the Baseline Road exit shortly before 10 a.m., when a silver Pontiac G6 "weaving through traffic" drove up behind Williams' vehicle.

The Pontiac pulled in front of Williams as he took the Baseline Road exit, according to the report. Williams said when he moved into the right lane to turn right on Baseline Road, the driver of the Pontiac slowed and fired a semi-automatic pistol at Williams' vehicle.

Williams suffered minor injuries from glass that broke when the bullet struck his driver-side window and exited through the windshield, the report states. Nowden wasn't injured in the shooting.

About two hours later, officers found the Pontiac matching Williams' description at 1902 Dover St. One of the vehicle's occupants, identified as Ricky Burns, 24, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of a terroristic act and one count of possession of a firearm by a certain person.
