When you find yourself reading over the news columns of the New York Times, you pays your money and you takes your chances. The most unmistakable opinion in what was once the country's newspaper of record can be found in its news columns, not its opinion pages. Those "opinion" pages are so drearily, conventionally, moderately liberal/progressive that there are no surprises there, more's the pity.
