A Searcy man died Wednesday night when his motorcycle ran off the road and hit a tree in White County, authorities said.
Jerry A. Sarrels Jr., 44, was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Arkansas 310 in Letona when he lost control in a curve shortly before 11:30 p.m., according to an Arkansas State Police report.
The motorcycle then ran off the highway and into a tree. Sarrels died from unspecified injuries.
Conditions at the time of the single-vehicle crash were described as clear and dry.
The death was the 182nd in a traffic crash so far this year and the third reported Wednesday, according to preliminary figures.
