Danny Santos Performance

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library will present singer/songwriter Danny Santos in concert at 7 p.m. Santos melds the inspiration of his Chicano heritage and a musical legacy ranging from Hank Williams to The Beatles to create a unique mix of country/folk tinged with bluegrass and the blues. AARP Driver Safety

HEBER SPRINGS — There will be an AARP Driver Safety Program class from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the McCoy Room of the Administration/Student Services Building at Arkansas State University-Heber Springs. Individuals 55 and older who complete the course will qualify for a three-year discount on their automobile-insurance premiums in Arkansas. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Russellville Class of ’59 Reunion

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville High School class of 1959 will hold its 55th-year reunion Friday and Saturday. There will be a meet and greet, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, at the Russellville Train Depot. On Saturday, the class will have a picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the dam in Old Post Park in Russellville. Lunch will be provided, and attendees are asked to bring pictures and desserts. Horseshoes will be available for play. Festivities will continue from 6-10 p.m. at the Russellville Country Club. Class members are asked to arrive at 6 to have a class picture taken. 85th Annual Picnic

CENTER RIDGE — St. Joseph’s Church in the Catholic Point community of Center Ridge will host the church’s 85th annual picnic Saturday. Tickets for the all-you-can-eat “original” homemade Italian sausage and spaghetti supper are $15 for adults and $6 for children. There will be no charge for children younger than 3. Meals will be served from 2:30-8:30 p.m. To-go plates will be available at 3. Mass will begin at 4. Everyone is welcome.

Juneteenth Celebration

CONWAY — Juneteenth 2014 will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sutton and Pine streets in Conway, across from Zion Hill Church of Christ, 1272 Sutton St. The free event, hosted by the Faulkner County Branch of the NAACP is open to the public. Juneteenth is a holiday that celebrates the emancipation of African-Americans from slavery but has come to signify the freedom and unity all Americans share. Creature Feature

Quickbooks For Beginners

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present QuickBooks for Beginners from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University. This hands-on workshop introduces QuickBooks to small-business owners and their employees with little or no experience using this accounting software. Topics will include setting up a new company; reconciling accounts; and working with lists, customers, vendors, assets and liabilities. A computer will be provided for use during the interactive seminar. The cost is $65 per person. Soccer Complex Temporary Closures

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department is working on repairing the fields at the Russellville Soccer Complex. While the repairs are underway, the complex will be closed at various times. When the complex is open, only the fields with goals will be available for use. Smoked Pork for Sale

Adult DigitalLiteracy Classes

Holiday Puppets Family Show

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Holiday Puppets will perform at 11 a.m. every Wednesday during the summer at the Puppet Playhouse in the post office building. The 45-minute show features Punch and Judy, Dudley the Magnificent Magician and The Cat Came Back shadow puppets. The family show is free and open to the public.

The shop offers a large selection of books at bargain prices. All proceeds from book sales benefit the libraries in Cleburne County, including the new library in Quitman.

Home Run Derby

POTTSVILLE — The Pottsville Athletic Association will host its first Home Run Derby at 2 p.m. June 28 at the Pottsville ballpark. There will be $1,500 in cash prizes, as well as door prizes and raffle items. Concessions will be available. The entry fee for preregistered participants is $10, and the entry fee the day of the derby is $15. There will be six age divisions for contestants ages 4 to 25. Entry forms are available at the concession stand of the Pottsville ballpark, the Pottsville branch of Centennial Banks, the Atkins Chronicle, Victory Wear and Sports Scene.
